Affordable Fellowship and belonging with other Special Needs families who get you
In addition to our regular B&B caregiver respite weekends, and in keeping with AMR's key tenets of affordability and fellowship with other families in the disability community, we also work to coordinate FAMILY events.
AMR partners with resort hosts and other organizations to offer family trips that are inclusive of those who have children with disabilities and other chronic struggles. The reprieve and escape are pivotal, but the in-person friendships that are forged, not only for the parents, but the siblings too, are priceless.
I am not a mother but I am a sister to multiple siblings with developmental disabilities and mental disorders and I only have good things to say about AMR. My parents now have access to a community that can help them not only take well deserved breaks but also provide support and encouragement during their fight to advocate for myself and my siblings.
AMR has been an incredible resource for our family as a whole and given us a community that knows all the struggles we have faced and those yet to come. My family has been shown so much kindness and assistance during our time of need that will not be forgotten or overlooked.
