A Mother's Rest is the nation's first and only non-profit network of caregiver respite & wellness inns! We create much-needed, affordable space for special needs moms, adoptive moms, military wives, and other full-time family caregivers.

Since 2017, A Mother's Rest respite retreats have provided tangible support, recuperative rest, therapeutic fellowship, and a peaceful sanctuary space for more than 9000 caregivers nationwide.

Every year, nearly half of all our 3-night retreats are private groups. These can be requested by organizations (ie; Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, Howard County Autism Moms, Wounded Warrior Wives, etc) or individuals wanting to invite other eligible caregiver moms (or dads!) to share a retreat with them.
We offer (20) private weekends annually at each of our year-round respite inns, in Maryland (The Terrace Guest House) and our North Georgia respite inn (Lawton Place Manor).
These venues each have (7) guest rooms with private and shared baths. We can host up to 10 in Maryland and 11 in North Georgia when rooms are shared. Our respite inns are set up like VRBO's. Beautifully appointed, fully furnished space, with full access to the kitchen and entire house. No meals are provided.
We can also accommodate larger groups at our Porch Partner venues in TX, AL, KY, CT, OH, VA, MI (3 locations), OR, NC (3 locations), and NJ (2 locations). These are a mix of B&B and VRBO partners. Pricing is higher for these locations (typically $180-$300 per guest).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MD & GA REQUESTS:
​
1) Requests for the following year (2027) open each December 15th at 10am sharp. The entire year will be booked by 10:30am, so do not delay.
​
2) NEW FOR 2027: The weekend MD/GA request process is moving entirely online! Each inn will have it's own signup link, which will show all weekends available to choose as a private retreat. No more waiting for me to reply, or shifting weekends. Straightforward, easy, and also allows for a wait list.

3) Registration Donation: A $100 donation to our General Fund must be made at the time of scheduling.
​
4) 2027 Private Group Pricing: Regrettably, we must increase pricing for 2027 retreats.
The cost per guest is $140 for 3 nights, $165 for 4 nights, and $190 for 5 nights. Private link for guest registration will be sent to you about 6 months out. If your organization prefers to cover the cost (instead of individual guests), you'd pay half at that time, and the remainder due 3 months prior.

5) Review the available weekends ahead of time. First come, first served.
​
6) We can only accommodate ONE weekend *per group* at each location. (with some exceptions).
​
7) These respite weekends are for adult, full-time family caregivers only. Moms/women, dads/men, or couples. Sorry, no families, children, or guests under 21 in GA or MD.
