Private Groups

With the help of generous donors & partners, A Mother's Rest coordinates affordable health & respite retreats exclusively for special needs moms, adoptive moms, and other adult female caregivers, year-round and nation-wide.

Since our inception in 2017, A Mother's Rest respite retreats have provided tangible support, recuperative rest, therapeutic fellowship, and a peaceful sanctuary space for more than 7,500 caregivers nationally.

​

Every year, nearly half of all our 3-night retreats are private groups.  These can be requested by organizations (ie; Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, Howard County Autism Moms, Wounded Warrior Wives, etc) or individuals wanting to invite other eligible caregiver moms (or dads!) to share a retreat with them.

The majority of our private group availability is at our Maryland respite inn (The Terrace Guest House) and our North Georgia respite inn (Lawton Place Manor).   These venues each have (7) guest rooms with private and shared baths.  We can host up 10 in Maryland and 11 in North Georgia when rooms are shared.   Our respite inns are set up like AirBnB's.  Beautifully appointed, fully furnished space, with full access to the kitchen and entire house, but no breakfast or other meals are provided. 

 

We can also accommodate larger groups at our Porch Partner venues in TX, AL, OH, VA, OR, NC, and NJ.   These are fully operation bed and breakfast inns.  Pricing is higher for these locations (typically $180 per guest), but breakfast is included daily.  You can inquire any time about these locations via email.   Weekends are still open for 2025 scheduling.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MD & GA REQUESTS: 

​

1) Requests for the following year (2026) open each December 15th at 8am sharp.   The entire year will be booked by 9am, so do not delay. 

​

2) The fastest way to send your MD/GA request on December 15th is to send a FB message to our Executive Director, who handles all scheduling requests.   If you are not on FB, you may email your requested dates and locations to innkeeper@amothersrest.org

​

3)  New for 2026:  Those requesting private groups are asked to make a $100 donation to our General Fund at the time of scheduling.   These donations can be made on our #CAREGivingTuesday campaign fundraising link.

​

4) We are NOT raising prices for 2026.  Each guest will make a requested $90 donation for the full three night visit.  This is not paid until your private link is set up for you later in the year.   Some organizations offer to sponsor the event;  in those cases, the organization will send funds to AMR and the guest tickets will be set to $0.  

​

5) Before you reach out, choose three weekends of interest to your group.  We will do our best to accommodate, and will confirm immediately to you on the 15th.   First come, first served. 

​

6) We can only accommodate ONE weekend *per group* at each location.  (with some exceptions).

​

7) These weekends can be for moms/women, dads/men, or couples. 

​
