About The Event


AMR's FLAGSHIP YEAR-ROUND RESPITE INN: Three nights of peace, sleep and friendship with other special needs moms, adoptive moms, and adult female caregivers who already understand your challenges!


Leave your worries, stress, and responsibilities at the front door! Inside, find essential rest and organic, therapeutic fellowship with other caregivers who truly "get it". 


This inn hosts: eligible caregiving Women/Moms, Men/Dads, and Couples. We also host numerous private group retreats.


First opened in November 2018, The Terrace Guest House is the nation's first year-round caregiver wellness inn. This fully restored 1798 tavern home is conveniently located on Main Street in the Historic District of New Market, MD. You can walk right out the front door to restaurants and shops. Nearly 5000 sq feet of resting space, on 1/2 acre, with 7 private bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. Some rooms can be shared with another mom you already know, but you're encou…

  • Kathryn's Gift-K-2nd Fl-Priv

    Our largest room and former master suite. King bed. 2nd floor. His and hers bathrooms w/ two toilets and a shared shower in between. Wrought iron bed with changing seasonal quilts. Cooling gel mattress and topper for an amazing nights' sleep. Writing desk, overstuffed reading chair w/ ottoman and light. Can be shared with another mom you already know for $125. Named after our primary capital donor who helped us purchase the home.

  • Cynthia's Chance-Q-2nd Fl

    2nd floor. A beautiful, calming, cozy room in light sage and coral tones. Blonde queen bed with a lovely fireplace (decorative only). Lovely view of Main Street. Only steps from a large shared bathroom with shower and deep soaking tub. Cynthia's Chance has a connecting door to Kathryn's Gift, if you and a friend want it to remain open for sharing as a larger suite. This room was named after one of our primary capital donors who helped us purchase the inn.

  • Beth's Blessing-QT-2nd Fl

    2nd floor. One of our largest rooms, Beth's Blessing gives you space to spread out! It has a queen bed plus a twin day bed for lounging. Changing seasonal quilts. Quiet on the back side of the house, you have a beautiful view of our terrace and rear gardens. Shared hall bath with deep soaking tub and shower is directly across the hall. This room can be shared with another eligible mom you already know for $125. Please inquire about a 2nd guest ticket.

  • Auntie's Escape-F-2nd Fl

    Our smallest, but coziest nook of a room. 2nd floor. Double/Full bed done in deep reds and blues and a Pottery Barn quilt. Best suited for people of smaller stature (very small room). Light filled, great view of Main Street. Just steps from a large shared bathroom with shower and deep soaking tub. This room was named after our Founder, Andrea Roberts, who lovingly goes by "Auntie" :)

  • Maryland Heritage-Q-2nd-Priv

    One of our favorite rooms! 2nd floor. Antique queen size walnut bed with a patriotic flag quilt. Located directly above the kitchen. Tin roof, perfect for listening to the rain. Great view of our terrace and rear gardens, with private back stairs to the kitchen. Open-air, en-suite bath with shower. This room celebrates the history of Maryland and the evolution of New Market since 1793!

  • Hammond's Hideaway-QT-3rd-Priv

    3rd floor log-cabin style attic hideaway. Antique, handmade queen bed among the original, hand-hewn rafters. Twin size reading chaise great for napping, or can be used by a 2nd guest. Amazing view of the north end of town. Half bath ensuite, shared tub/shower downstairs on the 2nd floor. Stairs to this room are steep: best suited for people who are physically healthy and have no trouble with stairs. Named after the Hammond family, who lived in this home for 80 years!

  • Evelyn's Hope-Q-Gr Fl-Priv

    Only room on the ground floor. This room has a full ADA, handicapped accessible bathroom with roll-in shower. Private exterior entrance with Queen sized black bed. Antique, Amish-made and hand painted black and yellow furniture. Quilt in hues of yellow and gray. Chaise lounge with reading lamp. Single occupancy only. This room is named after our Founder's great grandmother, Evelyn :)

    Even with our very low prices, there are still caregivers in our community who need financial assistance to attend these retreats. Your extra donations help us say YES! to these moms whenever it's needed. Thank you for your gift!

    These retreats sell out fast! But fear not! Our wait list program is really great, and your chances of getting a room later are actually very high. We have cancellations every week, and not always last minute. When we have an opening due to cancellation, we send one email to everyone on the wait list at the same time. First to re-register for the open room gets it. Pay close attention to your email!
